A member of the San Marcos church was baptized this past Sunday. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name (no one in our group did). But while a name certainly has value and importance, it didn’t really matter. To be honest there were a lot of things that didn’t matter. It didn’t matter that her skin was a different color than mine. It didn’t matter that we probably couldn’t have communicated. It didn’t matter what her standard of living was compared to mine. What mattered, or better said, what <i>matters</i> is that the number of voices that will glorify God for eternity has gone up. And one day, if I don’t get the chance on this Earth, I can tell her my name and she can tell me hers.
